Kelab Rekreasi Tentera Udara (KRTU), also known as Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) Recreation Club is located within the perimeter of a RMAF Subang Air Base. KRTU was the country’s first all-Malaysian golf project. Malaysians were responsible for not only the planning, design and construction, but also continue to maintain and manage the golf club. KRTU was the brainchild of formal RMAF Chief of Air force, Allahyarham Lt Jen (R) Tan Sri Mohamad bin Ngah Said. The Army Engineer Corps help clear the land in the mid-80s. The project took 123 acres of swampland and oil palm plantation and turned it into a 6,224-metre par-72 course that offers a wide variety of holes. The slopes and valleys of the original terrain have been largely retained, which means numerous elevated tees and a fair number of precarious fairway lies. Palm oil trees, in abundant numbers, also tighten these fairways and stand guard over the layout’s greens. For more information visit, www.krtu.net
